What is a Token?
API usage is measured in "tokens," which represent the computational cost of an operation. This ensures you pay a fair price based on the complexity of your request. Simple, cached requests cost less, while complex, compute-intensive operations cost more.

- Get Real-Time Inventory: 10 tokens
- Semantic Product Search: 50 tokens
- Perform Fractal Analysis: 200 tokens
- Bulk Data Export: 500+ tokens
The Token Bucket System Explained:
Each plan comes with a token bucket. Your bucket has a capacity (the maximum number of tokens it can hold) and a refill rate (how many tokens are added per second).
- Capacity acts as a burst buffer, allowing your agent to handle sudden spikes in traffic.
- Refill Rate provides a consistent, sustained throughput for your agent's daily operations without hard cutoffs.
This system provides both flexibility and predictability for your API usage.
Why are the Free Tier Limits So Generous?
We want you to build. Our free tier's ~10,500 effective daily tokens are not arbitrary; they are based on realistic workflow analysis.
Example Daily Free Tier Workflow:
- 100 Shopping Queries: (100 * 87 tokens/query) = 8,700 tokens
- 5 Inventory Checks: (5 * 150 tokens/check) = 750 tokens
- 5 Price Updates: (5 * 200 tokens/update) = 1,000 tokens
- Total: ~10,450 tokens
